Important:
This petition was submitted during the 2017-2019 parliament
Rejected petition ID for voting is discriminatory and undemocratic.
The Government plans to force people in some areas to provide ID in order to be able to vote in local elections; this may prejudice minority groups. The Electoral Reform Committee says studies from around the world show that demanding photographic ID from voters makes it less likely they will vote.
