Everyday, millions of Britons continue to go to work to keep our country running. From NHS staff, to delivery drivers and supermarket staff, without these incredible selfless people, many more would suffer.

The government has previously called these people 'low-skilled' workers and to prove to the nation that they see how vital they are, they should create a day to commend their hard work.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

We understand that you want the Government to acknowledge the role of the NHS, but it's not clear exactly what you want the Government to do. The Government is not responsible for designating "national days".
