Rejected petition Implement Race Related Studies into the National Curriculum
Rejected on
Implement the following topics in some form into primary and secondary education:
Pre-Slavery Black History
Colonial Studies
Institutional Racism must be challenged. For the majority of the population, there is a general lack of understanding on issues surrounding race and the forms racism takes. These issues are only properly considered at higher levels of education. Extending study of the above topics to become a core component of school level education is essential for society to tackle these issues. Properly educating the next generation is the only way to achieve lasting progress.
