Rejected petition Apologise for the slave compensation scheme and donate to Black Lives Matter.

In 1833 the British government paid out £20m to slave owners for the loss of their "property" when slave-ownership was abolished in British colonies. Since then tax payers have been paying this amount back. Make a public apology and make a sizeable donation to underprivileged black communities.

More details

In times like these it is important that the people are able to trust their government. I believe that a public apology and a sizeable donation (perhaps directly to Black Lives Matter) would show solidarity for the Black Lives Matter movement, and help to put this country onto the right side of history.
