Rejected petition Introduce Black and British Colonial history to the curriculum
Introduce Black and British Colonial history to the school curriculum to provide our next generation of children with an understanding of our diverse nation and it’s history and to help combat future racism in our society (both overt and systemic/institutionalised).
More details
This is important for our diverse country - children of all heritages should understand our colonial history, the history of slavery, and the history of race in our country (for example, the windrush generation).
I believe, along with may others, that this will help combat future racism and discrimination by giving children of the future diverse historical education.
