Rejected petition Reverse the Decision to Scrap the Gender Recognition Act Consultation Results
We demand the results of the public consultation to be published and for it's results to be respected in reforming the Gender Recognition Act (GRA).
More details
Under current legislation, the process to obtain gender recognition is laborious and often traumatic. In 2017, May pledged to allow people to legally change their gender without medical checks.
Following the public consultation on the Gender Recognition Act (GRA), the Government’s response was due in July and now presented in a leaked document.
The Government reportedly plan to ditch self-ID (despite 70% of 100,000 GRA respondents in favour of it), thus denying trans people their identities.
