Maintain the aid budget at its current proportion of our national income.

Now is not the time to cut our support to people around the world who are facing the same devastating pandemic as we are, but without the infrastructure, systems, financial resources and reserves that we have. We must stand alongside the poorest in this world, not abandon them. We have urged others to meet the 0.7% UN target for aid, and prided ourselves on doing so. We must not stop now, when so many development gains of the last decades are under such threat, and the need is so great.

Why was this petition rejected?

There’s already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
