Teachers and support staff across the age range have been repeatedly sidelined and ignored by government. Schools are categorically unsafe. Many teachers work in cramped classrooms with no social distancing, no ventilation and pupils aren’t required to wear masks in a classroom.

Raise teachers and support staff to a higher band on the priority vaccine list. This new strain of covid will certainly sweep through schools taking vast numbers of teachers with it. Thousands of teachers are being infected in the work place and must be prioritised as a matter of urgency.
