Rejected petition Stop the government from putting calories on menus.
Rejected on
The government says it plans to put calories on menus to tackle obesity, but this is dangerous to people suffering with eating disorders and/ or body dysmorphia.
It’s already difficult enough for many to eat in restaurants, let alone have the food content put in front of them for added stress.
Places such as McDonald’s already include calories on the menu and it hasn’t tackled anything, so why put the issue onto people who do not need to count calories and who would prefer to avoid counting them?
This is an incredibly unhealthy way to manage your diet, and clearly the government doesn’t understand that this is not the way to go around it.
