Rejected petition Stop the privatisation of Channel 4

Plans to privatise Channel 4 should be dropped and it should be left with its current ownership and funding model.

Privatising Channel 4 would seriously damage the channel, which has commissioned much high quality television since its inception. Privatising it would lead to a push for profit and a consequent drop in standards, and possibly to foreign ownership of the channel.

Why was this petition rejected?

There’s already a petition about this issue. We cannot accept a new petition when we already have one about a very similar issue.
