Rejected petition Stop/delay Section 24 Mortgage interest relief to help landlords through Covid19

Covid19 is having very serious implications for UK landlords - rents not being paid as tenants are unable to work. Landlords are working with tenants to find solutions, but they still have financial obligations to meet paying the mortgages, insurance and upkeep of properties with reduced income.

More details

The Government has promised to help out other industries and by stopping or delaying Section 24 mortgage interest relief it will help UK landlords with their own financial crisis. This could cause a housing crisis with landlords being forced to sell properties, as they can't meet payments, compounded by the fact they will not be able to off set any mortgage payments against their cost . Help the thousands of landlords in the UK, otherwise it could lead to house prices falling as well.
