Rejected petition Compensation for death in service of NHS / key workers with Covid-19

Families of NHS healthcare staff and other keyworkers who have been exposed to Covid-19 patients and have died with a Covid-19 infection while in service should receive a compensation of at least 2 annual salaries and a monthly widow pension of at least 50% of the accrued pension of the deceased.

More details

This should apply, even if the deceased person was not a fully registered member of the NHS pension scheme, or if the deceased was retired and has returned to the NHS / workplace due to the Covid crisis.

This should not only apply to NHS workers, but also to other keyworkers who have been exposed to patients with a Covid-19 infection (e.g. carers in care homes or nurseries).
