Rejected petition Change the national curriculum to include BAME history.

The Department for Education must include a comprehensive and inclusive EYFS Framework and National Curriculum to ensure all pupils and students are educated on the history and culture of BAME students in all subjects. This shouldn’t be solely taught in isolation but through the Creative Curriculum.

More details

It is important to incorporate the history of ethnic minorities in education to:
Develop a sense of identity and pride within BAME students through the education of different cultures and history
Promote diversity and inclusion within schools
Reduce the development of prejudice and discriminatory actions/beliefs by tackling young minds
Ensure the curriculum reflects the diverse student population
