Many people are using the Internet and social media to downplay the significance of Covid-19 both as a serious illness for many and as a burden on the NHS and society. Such misleading posts spread potentially dangerous misinformation and insult those who have sacrificed so much to Covid-19.

Outlaw Covid-19 denial and malicious spread of misinformation in a similar way to the outlawing of Holocaust denial in many other countries. Safeguards for protection of free speech and legitimate discussion should be included on such an act.
