Rejected petition Allow Tattoo/piercing studios and hair/beauty to open as soon as possible

To allow the industries listed above (tattoo, piercing, hair, beauty(cosmetic) ) to re open as soon as possible

Lack of support from the government is causing huge problems in these industries (business’ closing due to the grant not covering all the months rent etc..) and to the people mentally.

More details

Can be booking only, deep clean In between clients, easy tracking
Protective gear can be worn by both client and worker
Places of higher risk and higher footfall are open with less provisions in place to stop the spread

A lot of people are affected negatively financially and mentally leading to depression and suicide
(Not enough backing or support)

When the government announced their reasons for the increase in positive cases, none of the industries above were mentioned or even came close.

Why was this petition rejected?

We can't publish petitions when the request is something that's already happening or something that has been announced since you started your petition.

We think your petition is covered by Government or Parliament action already. If you'd like something else, you could start a new petition clearly explaining what it is.

On 22 February the Government published its Spring 2021 Covid-19 roadmap, which stated that close contact services would be allowed to resume in Step 2, no earlier than 12 April: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-response-spring-2021/covid-19-response-spring-2021

We could accept a petition calling for this date to be brought forward, but it would need to be clear when you want these sectors to be allowed to resume operations.

We have published the following petition, which you might like to sign:
