Rejected petition Cap the mark up price that Veterinary surgeries charge for medication
Rejected on
Veterinary surgeries are charging ridiculous mark up prices on their medication they prescribe at a consultation.
A medication that can be bought online for £20 (but needs a prescription) is being marked up at £45 at surgeries.
There should be a percentage mark up cap for all Vet practices.
Apparently 44% of UK households have pets and everyone is slave to these ridiculous prices. Why should owning a pet be so costly? We pay for insurance on top of this but it is not included in the policy.
Surgeries are taking advantage of poorly pets to make greedy profits.
They have to make a living but 105% profit... really?
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.
The Government is not responsible for vet fees, including for medication. This is a matter for individual veterinary practices.
