This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

We can only accept petitions about things the Government or Parliament are directly responsible for.

Decisions about treatment for trans children are a matter for the NHS and individual clinicians, not the UK Government or Parliament.

We could accept a petition calling on the Government to make it easier for trans children to legally change their gender, but it would need to be clear what (if any) process you want there to be for trans children to legally change their gender.

We can also accept petitions calling for new requirements to be imposed on schools in respect of changing rooms and uniforms.

We have published the following petitions, which you might like to sign:

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
