Rejected petition Requiring drivers to stop and report any road traffic collisions involving a cat
I want Parliament to amend Section 170 of the Road Traffic Act 1988 to include cats in the list of animals for which drivers are legally required to stop and report when involved in a road traffic collision.
More details
The Government has already made it a legal requirement for cats to be microchipped, which is intended to help identify them and ensure owners can be notified if their pet is found. However, this system is ineffective if drivers are not legally required to stop and report collisions involving cats.
