Rejected petition Establish a route for Technicians to progress from Technician to Paramedics.

I would like the Government to consider the ongoing concerns regarding the lack of career progression for Ambulance Technicians within the Scottish Ambulance Service. This issue is having a significant impact on staff morale, workforce retention, and potentially patient care.

More details

The Service previously allowed a Technician to complete relevant training, gain experience and progress internally to a Paramedic role once confident and competent, however, this pathway no longer exists. When paramedic training moved to a university degree model, the internal progression route for Technicians was removed. I would like to Government to step up in the same way they have for Nursing students and redevelop a new educational route for those Technicians currently in a "dead end job".
