Rejected petition: Create a national NHS Pathway for Endometriosis and Adenomyosis Care and Support
Rejected on
Require NHS England to establish a national care pathway for endometriosis and adenomyosis covering investigation, diagnosis, treatment, multidisciplinary care and post-diagnosis support, and commission updated research into the prevalence of these conditions.
Women with Endometriosis and Adenomyosis can face long delays to diagnosis and difficulties accessing coordinated care. Although endometriosis can affect multiple body systems, care is often accessed primarily through gynaecology services.
Patients should have access to a clear, consistent pathway that includes appropriate specialist referrals, pain management and long-term care after diagnosis. Patients report receiving little structured support following diagnosis.
