Open petition: Revise Government bullying guidance to better protect victims

Created by Rachael Victoria Bennett
Closes on

We think that when a child/children have made an allegation of bullying in school, the named bullies should be suspended to allow the victim to continue their learning uninterrupted in peace. The Government's guidance on preventing bullying should reflect this.

We believe that schools often alienate bullying victims and the victim feels that they need to remove themselves from the setting/problem, but their learning suffers. The perpetrator is being rewarded for their bad behaviour and the victim is being victimised. This is wholly unfair and the victims learning is suffering. In so many cases, the victims are the ones who do not fall into the 'In Crowd' or stand out for other reasons that children find them to be an easy target.
