Require all state-funded primary and secondary schools in England to meet a national minimum standard for pupil mental-health support, including early identification of mental-health needs, appropriate staff training, and clear pathways to timely professional support.
Every child deserves early mental-health support at school. As a parent, I experienced how difficult it was to get my child the right help and had to fight for support. Schools need better training, early identification and clear access to professional support, so children are helped before their mental health reaches crisis point. No parent should have to fight alone for their child to be heard, understood and supported. Early support can change a child's future.
