Rejected petition: Consultation on the proposal to enact Doris's law on assisted dying

Rejected on

Doris's law would be a tightly regulated system based on a list in regulations of medical conditions permitting eligibility to make applications to the High Court.

It would be a statute bar to any coercion of frail elderly people. It would be a statute bar to any slippery slope from pressurised courts. There would be an End of Life Commission charged with issuing and reviewing guidance as to the clinical pictures that could support applications.
