Open petition: Exempt GP surgeries from the recent increases in employer national insurance
Created by Vardan Tadevosyan
Closes on
We call on the Government to exempt NHS GP surgeries from the recent Employer National Insurance increases. We are concerned that GP surgeries are being taxed like private businesses, draining vital funds directly from frontline patient care.
We believe General practice is in need of saving more than ever. We are concerned the recent NIC increases and wage uplifts are costing average surgeries unprecedented amounts each year. Unlike private businesses, practices cannot pass these costs onto patients. Without an exemption or full financial reimbursement, we are concerned surgeries will be forced to cut clinical staff, reduce appointments, or close their doors permanently. We urge the government to protect our local GPs to prevent the deterioration of community healthcare."
