Open petition: Have a '3-Strike' suspension and 4th-offence expelled policy for school bullying
Created by Sophie Phipp
Closes on
We call for the statutory school behaviour and exclusion guidance to mandate that any pupil with 3 confirmed incidents of bullying must be suspended and permanently excluded on a 4th confirmed incident.
Currently, headteachers have discretion over how to handle bullying. This means consequences can vary between schools, and in our view, many persistent bullies face minimal repercussions while victims continue to suffer. We believe there must be a unified, strict national standard across all schools to protect children. We are concerned that it is often the victim that has to move classes or move schools, whilst the bullies get to stay where they are, with their friends. It’s time we stand together as one.
