   The government responded on 15 May 2025

   New legislation is not necessary as all patients already have the legal right to receive care and treatment that is clinically appropriate and meets their needs.

2. Ban new waste incinerators and revoke permits where building has not begun

   The government responded on 14 May 2025

   Government will only back waste incineration projects that meet strict conditions. New facilities will have to maximise efficiency, and support net zero and the move to a circular economy.

3. Impose a lifetime ban on animal ownership for anyone convicted of animal cruelty

   The government responded on 12 May 2025

   Under the Animal Welfare Act, courts may impose animal ownership bans of varying durations on offenders. We consider it is appropriate for courts to determine such decisions on a case-by-case basis.
